A New Day For Love (Rev.5)

A New Day For Love

Wearing in mid-May, on another cold night,

An old worn night-shirt with faded stars and moon.

Blinds closed in the living room,

Shut tight from years of lost nights

Alone, I dimmed the lights.

I traded my night-shirt, for all those sad dreams.

I opened curtains, pushed them back

And cracked the blinds to let in sunlight.

Opening the door to the ‘morrow

Wearing new sneakers and comfortable jeans,

I heard you knock.

Kissing me on the lips

As I opened the door,

You held my face,

blushing my cheeks.

I like this renewal of the relationships…your voice underlines the meaningfulness of them.

ZQ! I visited this yesterday and thought I had commented on it–a sweet and lovely poem. I especially like the close–one feels the blush and the lips. K.

I believe things are looking up. There is a right time, this was it.
Practical ones say it should have been done years ago. Not so,
there was no magic then, this was the time. Nice write, ZQ.

Oh I so love this….trading the night shirt (love the moon and stars!) for the hope of a new day, new dreams, new love………adore the romantic ending……….do we need to update the updating interview, my friend? Are you holding back? LOL. Am happy for you.

One note: ‘night’s’ should be ‘nights’ since it is clearly plural, not possessive. Other than that, very good work. Like how the change of clothes signifies a change in the person.

Ah, always good to let the sun shine in! It can change one’s mood entirely, I think, to shed some light. And as for new sneakers, that definitely is another way to make one’s spirit rise!!
