Go Unharmed

Re: 2016 Happy Birthdays

It is always difficult for me to celebrate any of my children’s birthdays

Without thinking of all of them as a new year begins.

Go Unharmed

Patience,

Understanding,

Acceptance, and

Decisions made in justice

Will have no remorse.

 (Regardless of the adversary

Who, is wounded in truth,

That is slain without soul,

Bleeding in falsehood),

Continue to breathe the fresh air!

Trusting

The invisible sword

Of all these things:

Patience,

understanding,

acceptance,

And decisions measured without harm

In justice.

Pass silently to the other shore

Of peace and joy;

Destined to be passed on

To your heirs.

You have been taught well

Go unharmed.

I can’t think of a best wish a parent can have for a child. To “go unharmed” and to be given the tools to get there… just precious.

This made me think of a child moving out, perhaps on his/her own journey to work or college. They were taught well and now can protect themselves in the grown up world. Just my thoughts.

Lovely words to pass on to your heirs. All we can wish for is that they do ‘go unharmed’ and treat others with the same ethos. Nice writing.

A lovely wish for your children’s safety. I think all of us parents want our children to go unharmed into the world. No matter how old they get, we just want their wellbeing.

Happy new year, my friend. This poem goes straight to my heart. “Go unharmed”, a loving prayer to your children. I have just had the wonderful experience of being with almost all of my kids during the holidays, the missing one Skyped……….and it did my heart so much good! I absolutely adore this beautiful poem.

Continue to breathe the fresh air is one the best advice I have ever read.

For some reason I read that first part as
    “justice
Will have no remorse.” and found it a rather potent truth. Not as intended perhaps, but compelling nonetheless. Go unharmed indeed

Patience speaks in every word. If you only taught them wisdom you taught them well. A fine, considered poem.
