Notes found on the Refrigerator May 2016

22 May

Moon through the needles

Pines shines my path through night

Budding maple black branches

Shadow light indiscriminate of who it sees.

   ****

Love is not something you look for and find

It is something you discover

To keep for yourself in the darkness of your heart

Until sharing the discovery’s spark into light.

   ****

Blue mussels cling rocks

Tide and moon are true lovers

Boiling for supper.

   ****

Blue skies leasing trees

Green grass below aging feet

Balancing in spring

   ****

Blue birds sing in spring

Harmony in nature’s peace

Summer on the rise.

   ****

Finally:

a note to by daughter Emma-Rose

Born with a white bird on her shoulder.

Look at you now! At thirty, with a smile

And without a frown that shines

As bright as the moon clears the clouds.

Who knew this child would grow up girl,

To a woman, with all her smiles and frowns!

Keep speaking aloud about breaking clouds

That exposes the sun to husband and sons

Brandishing a white feather

In braided hair on your shoulder

Unable to exclude anyone.

I Love you

For ever

As that white bird’s song I heard

Singing sweet sounds

As you were born

Sitting on your shoulder

Which my heart still hears.

   ****

Moon through the needles

Pines shine my path through night

Budding maple black branches

Shadow light’s indiscriminate of who it sees.

ZQ!!!!!! How lovely to see you here! And with such glorious lines! “Love….is something you discover” to keep in your heart – so beautiful!!!!! I love the blue mussels on the rocks, and the tide and moon as true lovers. And how I adore the lines for Emma Rose “born with a white bird on her shoulder”. whose song you still hear. How gorgeous. Sigh. Such beauty in here this fine Sunday. Always so nice to read you, my friend.

Makes me want to scribble notes and post them all over my refrigerator… even while threading the moon through a needle..

I love the moon through the trees and pine trees in particular! What a lucky girl your daughter is. Your haiku are lovely too. A sumptuous read ZQ.

What a lovely write. Can’t decide on a favorite. But the poem to your daughter is superb. Your sentiment here is as bright as the moon.

A note which most certainly beats ‘coffee..cheese and dentist at three!’ Beautifully – with the right light inside many good things can be seen..passed on and glow – such a touching write to your daughter
