self-pity

31 Jul

the leaves flirt with the moon in a summer breeze,

flickering light between trees;

as I remembered our first kiss.

Now, here we sit, in our distance

without romance or adventure.

We sip our home-grown tea.

Flower without sun

Light without darkness of moon

Wilts in self-pity

This pandemic is wonderful at pulling back the curtain on issues. But hopefully we will become wiser through all this and learn more about what we need and what we can give.

Social distancing is great for keeping the coronavirus at bay, but not so great for fostering intimacy. What’s a body to do?

“Now, here we sit, in our distance” – being so close, sometimes we can be a thousand miles apart and not know it

No doubt we are all doing our best to avoid a pity party! We need to seek out the lessons to be learned.

Humans are such destroyers of nature that they dont really deserve this beautiful world we live on.

awww…no worries, you can do this! there’s romance in having coffee together at this point in your lives. or at least, have some hot chocolate. that’s more romantic and cozier!

Sipping tea can be an adventure if one is an eccentric poet

You are right about the destructiveness of self-pity, if it’s held on to for very long. Yet your words are so beautifully written that the writing itself must be cause for hope

This is so evocative. These are challenging times for all of us. But we mustn’t lose heart. We are in this together 💝

There is comfort in sipping home-grown tea. One of my new favourites of yours, kiddo.

Amazing acceptance.Even trees from the same seed seek separate air and sun.
