“Pensées sur “l’être et le néant”

(Thoughts on “Being and nothingness” Jean-Paul Sartre)

In late afternoons, the winter sun slips

through a hazy kitchen window —casting a small bright light

on the wooden floor.

Some days I walk around it.

Some days I walk through it.

Some days, I never even see it!

Then —there are some days when I spot it.

I pick it up —and put it in my shirt pocket;

the one closes to my heart,

collecting warm engagements for my upcoming spring.

~~~~~
Owl’s nest sits high in the shadow of a branch
Wind flickers in glint moonlight through the leaves
—of the predator’s eyes.
Prey —feasting on ignorance,
feeds on “chance.”
Unaware of their “self’s” demise.
Sun light? —To either of them?
Is always an enlightened surprise.
Notes found on the Refrigerator: January 2015
buddha“…Form Is Emptiness, Emptiness Is Form…”
The Heart Sutra
Sitting on a corner, empty bowl on his knees,
In a gust of wind and a shield of rain,
He rose above the clouds.
Pulling a map from his hair,
landing at my feet, he said follow me,
and then, disappeared.
An Old Fashion Love:
Grand-Père et Grand-Mère
Le soleil trouve son chemin à travers le ciel brisées,
comme la lune attend patiemment de l’autre côté.
À la fois l’amour de support qui est logé jamais à décider
si quelque chose est toujours mal.
Une tasse de thé et de pain grillé moutarde.
Une cravate de soie jaune et une robe rouge vif.
    *****************************************
Grand Father and Grand Mother
 The sun finds its way through broken skies
as the moon waits patiently on the other side.
Both, supporting love that’s housed never to decide
whether anything is ever wrong.
A cup of tea and mustard toast.
A yellow silk tie and a bright red gown.
