Full Moon Depression

20 Mar

Sweet seductive depression, she puts you slowly in bed

unable to get up.

She holds you in her grip until your mind cries

—with the empty feeling of a heart abandoned;

she bites you with illusions of guilt

and buries you with all your sins

in her embrace of despair

    Yes, but mistakes are not total and complete failures, they can be opportunities to correct our trajectory.

    Or, those we are reminded, by her, were our mistakes.

    No, she isn’t a comfort. But then, if we want to own the highs, we must learn there is a certain balance in all things. Even, but most often, in feeling levels. She exists to help us learn from our own experience. Without her, we might make very poor choices.

    Depression will have her way with us if we are not vigilant.

    How one feels neglected by the ever-present full moon which is always there. It is not concerned or
    bothered by us but continues to tempt us. Very true ZQ, and lovely word-craft!

    That is the alluring nature of depression, it engulfs one without knowing.

    Living in this world and never ever feeling depressed is highly unnatural and suspicious . She,however. is only allowed to make short visits. House guests like fish start to smell after a few days:)

    Depression is such seductress and once under her spell it is hard to let her go….a deep sadness lingers for the one under her spell and those who love them.

    I have known her only once, and how firm her grip and how great her delight in my sorrow. Luckily I broke free and have banished her to hell.

    What an exquisite description. I am one who has never battled this and I am everyday thankful. I would like to know how to soothe the pain of those who suffer. It feels so bleak as you describe it.
