Refugee

04 May

A rainbow un-torn,

Thin flying paper with tails.

String dangling from low branches,

Kite in a treetop.

Who will take it down?

Who will, with careful hands,

Retrieve it to fly again?

It may just be my mood today, but this is so sad… Brilliantly written, love the concept, but so, so sad!

and then i saw the title, and the poem takes on extra layers.
what a truly “show, don’t tell” poem is .

Aww love this–I once wrote a piece about a tree that ate a kite–this is much more tender–lovely!

Who will? who ever helps someone else.. and yes the title helped me to an inner meaning.. compassion is what’s needed.

Delicate lines, like the subject itself. Need no untangling.
This would be nice for Susan’s Midweek Motif, ‘children’. I am still struggling with that.

Those things we played with and abandoned…whether by accident or by choice. I loved this, ZQ.

i love when someone cares enough to help untangle things and get them out in the sky again… no matter if it’s a kite or a person who needs help

Someone who is caring. So it could be up there dangling in the branches for some time!

Beautiful. Kites all want to fly. And a tree is only a dangerous port in a storm.
