An October Morning
Leaves are dancing in rhythm with the wind.
Frost embraces its partner —holding Fall within.
Colorful chaos prances through woods and on soil.
I kick dust-up behind me —before it settles cold.
I go forward alone, remembering an old friend,
humming those ole “dirt road blues” again.

Sweet poem. Autumn blues is part of the seasonal cycle. I am strictly a summer person. I have not seen snow for twenty years and I hope not to again:)

This reminds me of when I was a kid and kicked a rock all the way from the village. A colorful chaos indeed.

I live on a dirt road. Your poem felt so real to me. I’ll remember it as I kick up dirt and walk alone…with my memories.

Oh this autumn day certainly has a bluesy feel. I can hear the harp somewhere in the wind.

I can almost hear those dirt road blues! Am scuffing through the leaves on the west coast, too. Fall is a good time for travelling. Smiles.

I understand singing those ‘dirt road blues’ in October. I think that October is a VERY bluesy month!
